FREE Face Coverings

As part of BID’s wider programme to get the city centre back on its feet we will be handing out tens of thousands of face coverings to visitors, funded by city centre businesses.

The face coverings will be available from a pop-up station on the Flag Market from Monday to Saturday between 9.30am and 2.30pm staffed by the BID and volunteers from the city.  Members of the public can also access complimentary hand-sanitising facilities at the same time.

The free face coverings are part of BID’s wider plan to create a safe environment for city centre visitors, which includes a daily power washing programme and weekly disinfecting cycle of the high street and street furniture,

Publicly accessible hand sanitising banks, which are set to be increased in numbers, are currently available 24/7 at the former BHS store on Fishergate, at the Butler Street exit of the Railway Station and outside Evoque on Church Street.

Additional units are expected to be installed around the city centre once landlord permission is received.
