We’re on the lookout for a new Digital Marketing and Operations Support Officer to join our small team.  Interviews will take place in the new year, details below:


Research, update, manage, and promote coordinated content for the Experience Preston website and associated BID communication channels
Develop relationships with city centre businesses and stakeholders to actively seek content to ensure regular promotion of city centre business activities/news
Support levy payers in the creation of and updating of pages/content on BID platforms
Create seasonal assets and content to promote levy payer activities and priorities
Source and share relevant/localised content for the BID’s channels to encourage consumer engagement and awareness
Work in conjunction with the BID team to promote and market key activities to realise the BID’s priorities: vibrancy, safety & security, and appeal.
Support the production and promotion an annual events calendar to enable businesses to plan local marketing activity
Create campaigns/content centred around events and seasons
Update/respond to BID’s communication channels daily (Twitter/Facebook/Instagram)
Continue to build an engaged audience on all platforms and communicate key information to them on behalf of the BID and levy payers
Follow and engage with fashion and lifestyle bloggers and encourage them to coordinate with city centre outlets
Create a ‘style’ for communication and engage and respond to businesses and consumers in a timely and professional manner
Design or source relevant and useful imagery/content for use across social platforms
Manage Google Analytics accounts and provide monthly updates to relevant committees and BID manager
Maintain strong working relationships with the levy payers and afford requested support wherever possible
Devise a communications plan for the Preston Gift Card, supported participants, and create seasonal content to encourage sales
Devise a communications plan for ‘Experience Preston’ and associated channels
Work with brands to create sponsored and financially supported content and/or sponsorship of campaigns/events
Work in coordination with the NWL Chamber of Commerce to deliver the BID programme as per the 2022-2027 manifesto
Support the City Retail Forum, Pubwatch, Preston At Night, and City Safe groups with the production of minutes, agendas, papers, and reports
Support the BID manager with operational duties and attend meetings when requested to support the chair/BID
Represent BID levy payers and their best interests at all levels

To undertake personal and professional development in line with the Chamber’s objectives
To obey the H & S law and cooperate in the Chamber’s activities to achieve a healthy and safe environment. This may involve undertaking training, wearing protective clothing and assisting with the production of a risk assessment
To undertake other duties which may not be outlined in the above job description
Out of normal office hours duties will be required – you will be required to work occasional early mornings, evenings, and weekends, especially in relation to BID events.


Salary: £23,000 – plus pension contribution, 28 days annual leave entitlement (inc. Bank Holidays), workplace health scheme.
